Project 320: The Purpose of Gideon
- Ephesians 3:20-21 NIV
[20] Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, [21] to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
We all tend to say AMEN when we say we say we want MORE of GOD.
But to receive the MORE God has in STORE, we almost ALWAYS have to embrace the NEW he is calling us TO.

[37] “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the new wine would burst the wineskins, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. [38] New wine must be stored in new wineskins. 39 But no one who drinks the old wine seems to want the new wine. ‘The old is just fine,’ they say.”

C – Crying out to God (Under the weight of bondage, realizing our need to return)
D – Deliverance (God, in His mercy, is always looking to redeem, rescue, restore)

Judges 6:1 NIV
[1] The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, and for seven years he gave them into the hands of the Midianites.Judges 6:6 ESV

5: Pulled Down False Idols

Sacrifice the bull as a burnt offering on the altar, using as fuel the wood of the Asherah pole you cut down.” [27] So Gideon took ten of his servants and did as the Lord had commanded. But he did it at night because he was afraid of the other members of his father’s household and the people of the town.

6: Discovered His People
Judges 7:2-7 NLT
[2] The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many warriors with you. If I let all of you fight the Midianites, the Israelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength. [3] Therefore, tell the people, ‘Whoever is timid or afraid may leave this mountain and go home.’” So 22,000 of them went home, leaving only 10,000 who were willing to fight. [4] But the Lord told Gideon, “There are still too many! Bring them down to the spring, and I will test them to determine who will go with you and who will not.” [5] When Gideon took his warriors down to the water, the Lord told him, “Divide the men into two groups. In one group put all those who cup water in their hands and lap it up with their tongues like dogs. In the other group put all those who kneel down and drink with their mouths in the stream.” [6] Only 300 of the men drank from their hands. All the others got down on their knees and drank with their mouths in the stream. [7] The Lord told Gideon, “With these 300 men I will rescue you and give you victory over the Midianites.
