MY STORY
Are you a traveler or a homebody? Explain.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

QUICK REVIEW
Greg talked about a “kinsman-redeemer” on Sunday and gave several duties that they had. What would you see as advantages or disadvantages of having this custom in our culture today?

DIGGING DEEPER
READ Job 19:25; Isaiah 47:4
The word “redeem” means, “to buy or pay off; clear by payment; to buy back; to recover by payment or other satisfaction.” Explain why the Bible continually refers to Jesus as our Redeemer.

READ Galatians 4:4-5
From the beginning of time, God knew that Jesus was going to have to come and die for the redemption of the world. But redemption also brought with it sonship. What benefits do we gain with sonship besides simply forgiveness?

READ 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
When we become the recipients of redemption, the Bible says that the blood of Jesus has bought us. What do you think it means to have been “bought” by the blood of Christ?

READ John 1:19-29
John, the Baptist, came for a very specific purpose, and that was to prepare the world for the entrance of Jesus into their culture.
What does it mean for Jesus to be called “The Lamb of God”?

TAKING IT HOME
READ Colossians 1:13-20
Because of our redemption through the shed blood of Jesus, we have now been reconciled (brought into agreement or harmony; restored) to God. Spend some time this week thanking God for all that He has done to bring us forgiveness and restoration, through the sacrifice that Jesus offered on the cross.
