Sermon Title & Text: “Built to Last” Ephesians 2:11-22
NetWorth! (Book of Ephesians) The difference between all the assets minus all the liabilities is a person’s new worth. All they own - all they are = net worth. What is the net worth of your soul? Paul explains to Ephesian Christians living in an idolatrous, money driven culture that their soul has immeasurable worth. The understanding of the worth of your soul impacts every single day of your life.
- Built to Last. In Eph 2:11-22 focus more on the collective church and our individual role in God’s house. Will your life make the impact, God created you to make?
- Remember: What was life like before you met Christ?
- But Now: (a) Brought Near (b) He Himself is our Peace (c) Create a New Person (d) Reconciled to God (e) Access to the Father
- Important terms:
a. Apostle Fill in the blank
b. Prophet Fill in the blank
c. Cornerstone Fill in the blank - So Then: As fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God:
a. We are then built on the foundation of the apostles & prophets
b. Christ is the Cornerstone
c. You (church) also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. - How does the church being built on the foundation of the apostles & prophets deepen your own personal relationship with the Lord?
- What does it mean that Christ is the Cornerstone?
- What does it mean to be a part of a church and the church?
- Meditate: v22 states that in Christ the church is being built into a dwelling place for God…As you think on that truth, what is your role in the building of Christ’s church?

Lord, we pray these notes and this message are a source of strength, guidance, and spiritual deepening for us all. Amen.
