
Titus 3:8-15 Behavior Befitting To Grace
Verse 8
Trustworthy statement - Literally “a faithful word” See 1 Timothy 1:15, 3:1, 4:9, 2 Timothy 2:11
These things - The message of verses 4-7
Speak confidently – Affirm strongly
so that… The message of God’s grace should produce results in our behavior. However it is not automatic! We must be careful to engage in good deeds.
These things – refers to our good deeds
Good and profitable for men - Both for believers and unbelievers
Verse 9
In Relation to False Teachers:
Shun:
-Foolish controversies
-Genealogies
-Strife
-Disputes about the Law
Why? These things…“are unprofitable and worthless.”
Verse 10
Reject – Refuse, have nothing to do with “But have nothing to do with worldly fables…” 1 Timothy 4:7
After a first and second warning - If a person does not change after two warnings he is to be avoided and refused a platform to speak.
Verse 11
Why?
-He is perverted
-He is sinning
-He is self-condemned

So that nothing is lacking – The perfect opportunity for a grace based good deed is monetary support.
Let our people also – The responsibility of all believers is to engage in good deeds to meet the needs of other people and ministry.
Unfruitful – The result of selfish living
Grace be with you all - The letter begins with grace and ends with grace!
The ‘you all’ is plural indicating that the letter was to be read publicly.
