16) ”So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.
17) The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.
18) But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses.
19) When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures,
20) idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division,
21) envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
22) BUT the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23) gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”
24) Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there.
25) Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Galatians 5:16-25

HABIT 3: LIVE A SPIRIT-LED LIFE
“Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, ―Which, He said, you heard of from Me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now… you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” - Acts 1:4-8
I. HOW WAS THE HOLY SPIRIT FIRST REVEALED?
“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”
“Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard them speaking in his own language. Utterly amazed, they asked: ’Are not all these men who are speaking Galileans?
“Then how is it that each of us hears them in his own native language? …we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!‘
“Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, ̳What does this mean?‘ Some, however, made fun of them and said, ‘They have had too much wine.‘
“Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: ̳Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It‘s only nine in the morning! No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: ̳In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.‘“ - Acts 2:1-17

III. WHAT DOES SPIRIT- LED LIVING PRODUCE IN OUR LIVES?
1.
“So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace, being built up; and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase.” - Acts 9:31 (NAS)

IV. LIVING A SUPERNATURAL LIFE
One of the main purposes of the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives is to connect us to the heavenly realms,
“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.” - Ephesians 2:6-7
“However, as it is written: ̳No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him‘ - but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.” - 1 Corinthians 2:9-10
“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below… And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” - Acts 2:17-21

V. HOW DO I RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT?
1.
“Peter replied, Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.‘“ - Acts 2:38
2.
“Now suppose one of your fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” - Luke 11:11-13 (NAS)
3.
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God‘s grace in its various forms.” - 1 Peter 4:10
