Personal & Small Group Study

MY STORY
Have you ever helped a total stranger? If so, how?

How many foreign countries have you visited? Which one stands out in your memory?

QUICK REVIEW
On Sunday, Greg talked about how God had sent many different people in lots of different directions to accomplish His purposes. Have you ever felt like God might want to send YOU somewhere, either short term or long term?

DIGGING DEEPER
READ Exodus 3:1-15
Moses felt completely inadequate to go where God was sending him, and to do what God was asking him to do. Have you ever felt inadequate to do something that you believed God was sending you to do? What did you do?

READ Isaiah 6:1-8
Isaiah went from being unworthy and unclean to being ALL IN, by saying, “Send me!” What made the difference in him and what needs to happen in us to make that kind of a change? What are you ALL IN for?

READ Matthew 14:22-33
In this event, Jesus told his disciples to both GO and to COME. If we see every command to GO as also having a command to COME to him, how could that help us deal with the fear of going?

READ Matthew 28:16-20
Jesus commands his followers to do 4 things. What were the 4 things and what was the promise that Jesus gave concerning those commands? Does this passage cause you fear or confidence? Explain.

TAKING IT HOME
READ 1 Peter 3:13-16
Peter’s admonition to us is to not be afraid, and to always be prepared to share why we have hope in Jesus. Are you prepared to “give the reason for the hope that you have?” Or what needs to be done to prepare you to do so?
