Fuel Church: Foundations Pt. 1
Great Commission

Vision Statement:

Creating an AUTHENTIC environment where people and God
CONNECT and lasting TRANSFORMATION
takes place (2 Cor 5:17-20)

We Are A Great Commission Church:

Mark 16:15-20 (NLT)

15 And then he told them, Go into all the world and preach
the Good News to everyone.
16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved.
But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned.
17 These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe:
They will cast out demons in my name, and they will
speak in new languages.
18 They will be able to handle snakes with safety,
and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them.
They will be able to place their hands on the sick,
and they will be healed.
19 When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them,
he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place
of honor at God’s right hand.
20 And the disciples went everywhere and preached,
and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they
said by many miraculous signs.

Colossians 1:28-29 (NLT)

28 So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, persfect(or Mature) in their relationship to Christ. 29 That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works in me.

Ephesians 3:10 (NIV)

His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known…

CHURCH GATHERINGS - 4 Values

“I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go into the house of the Lord.’” Ps 122:1
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.” Jn 4:23-24 (NIV)

“But if all of you are prophesying, and unbelievers or people who don’t understand these things come into your meeting, they will be convicted of sin and judged by what you say. As they listen, their secret thoughts will be exposed, and they will fall to their knees and worship God, declaring, “God is truly here among you.’” 1Cor. 14:24-25 (NLT)

“Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.” Eph. 4:11-12 (NLT)

“For ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’
But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!’” Rom. 10:14-14 (NLT)

Points Of Passion

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (NKJV)

Jerusalem -

Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world. James 1:27 (MSG)

Judea and Samaria -

When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings. 1 Cor. 9:22-23 (NLT)

The Ends of the Earth -

“Jesus said to his followers, “Go everywhere in the world, and tell the Good News to everyone.’” Mark 16:15

What Can I Do? (not one or the other)

  1. “He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.’” Matt. 9:37-38 (NLT)

  2. “Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.”
And he said, “Yes, go, and say to this people…” Isa. 6:8-9 (NLT)

  3. “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matt. 6:19-21 (NKJV)

II. Warning/Admonish -

Connecting people together, building relationships and doing “LIfe Together” is who Fuel Church is. This is our DNA and a core value that we hold. As we grow and become much larger one day, it is important that we stay connected in much smaller environments, in order, to meet each others needs better.

We believe we must become larger and smaller at the same time, in order to have maximum impact in our communities.

“You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house.” Acts 20:20 (NIV)

Simple Churches/Discussion Groups Provide 3 Things:

  1. A place to

“I have voluntarily become a servant to any and all in order to reach a wide range of people: religious, nonreligious, meticulous moralists, loose-living immoralists, the defeated, the demoralized—whoever. I didn’t take on their way of life. I kept my bearings in Christ—but I entered their world and tried to experience things from their point of view. I’ve become just about every sort of servant there is in my attempts to lead those I meet into a God-saved life. I did all this because of the Message. I didn’t just want to talk about it; I wanted to be in on it!” 1 Cor. 9:22 (MSG)

  2. A place to __Protect (a safe place)

“We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.” 1Jn. 3:16 (NLT)

  3. A place to

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Prov. 27:17

III. Teaching Everyone -

Fuel Church Foundations are an action step of our mission statement in “training, equipping and advancing people toward an authentic, passionate and effective relationship with Jesus.” This growth track plays a key role, from the time you accept Jesus as your Lord to walking out the ministry that He has called you to, it will lead you through a step-by-step process of growth and leadership.

Heb. 6:1 (MSG) - So come on, let’s leave the preschool finger painting exercises on Christ and get on with the grand work of art. Grow up in Christ. The basic foundational truths are in place: turning your back on “salvation by self-help” and turning in trust toward God; baptismal instructions; laying on of hands; resurrection of the dead; eternal judgment. God helping us, we’ll stay true to all that. But there’s so much more. Let’s get on with it!”

IV. Present Everyone Fully Mature -

“Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matt. 5:48 (NIV)

All of us were created by God to make a difference in the life of another person. God has a place for you where your unique abilities, gifts, talents and passions can touch the lives of others. we believe that your life will never make sense until you find, develop, and fulfill that purpose.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Eph. 2:10 (NIV)

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24 (NIV)

“There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.
A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other… 12) The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ…27) All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.” 1 Cor. 12:4-7,12,27 (NLT)
