Courageous Action
Part of Sermon Notes

Courageous Action means:
No reserves
No retreat
No regrets

1. We should have no reservations about trusting Jesus.

Matthew 14:22-27

• Jesus’ ways are far wiser than our ways.

• Jesus sometimes leads us into the storm…but for a purpose!

Matthew 8:23-27

• Jesus doesn’t always calm the storm….instead He calms us.

Why doesn’t Jesus always calm the storms in our lives?
• Because he is training us to be courageous.
• Because he is praying for our faith.
• Because he is present with us.

2. We should never retreat by playing it safe.

Matthew 14:27-29

A. Jesus is calling us to God-sized things not man-sized things.
B. We should expect Jesus to do amazing things!!

3. We will never regret following Jesus wherever he leads.

Matthew 14:30-33

A. We can be courageous because of Christ’s power.

Colossians 1:15-17

Exodus 34:6-7

B. When we take courageous action we influence those around us.

2 Corinthians 12:9

Pastor’s Challenge:

This week live a life of courageous action!!

No reserves: Don’t hold anything in your life back from Jesus. Trust Him to lead you to His perfect will.
No retreat: Refuse to let fear, doubt, cynicism, the past, busyness or anything else cause you to retreat from seeking and staying in God’s will
No regrets: Whether you have lived a life of regret or not you can get out of the boat, your comfort zone and move towards Jesus. You will never regret moving towards Jesus!
