Part of Legacy 16
November 9, 2016

Ps 112:5-6 (NLT) Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered.

How do we want to be remembered?

Rom 14:11-12 (NLT) Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. For the Scriptures say, “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will confess and give praise to God.’” Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God.

The Two Question Final Exam

1) What did you do with

?

Rev 20:11-12 (NLT) And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books.

Matt 7:21-23 (NLT) “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you.

Right Answer: I accepted Jesus’ payment and I know Him; He knows me.

2) What did you do with

you?

2 Cor 5:10 (NLT) For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.

Matt 16:27 (NLT) For the Son of Man will come with his angels in the glory of his Father and will judge all people according to their deeds.

Right Answer: I gave my life away.

Before Jesus, our whole life is about finding Jesus, so you don’t have to pay for your own sins. Once we find Jesus, our whole life is about making a difference.

Eccl 3:11-12 (NLT) He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.

Driven by Eternity

1) I will intentionally

what I have.

2 Cor 9:11-12 (NLT) Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.

2) I will intentionally

others.

Matt 20:26-28 (NLT) Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of Man (Jesus) came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

3) I will intentionally

Christ.

2 Cor 5:20 (NLT) So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

There is

to this life than life.
