Why God Has Called the Church To Evangelize The World

The call of duty for the church is to save the world with God’s message of salvation in Jesus Christ.

The call of duty for Changepoint is this: Life in Christ for every Alaskan and the world beyond.

Definition of duty: Something that you have to do because it is part of your job, or something that you feel is the right thing to do

Big Idea: God has given the church the one and only message that can truly change the world.

2 Corinthians 5:14-21

5 biblical motivations for why we are called to evangelize the world:

1. Because Christ’s love

2. Because we live for God and not

: “And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again”

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

3. Because we are new

4. Because God gave us the ministry of

5. Because we are Christ’s

Evangelism should never be viewed as a burden but rather a blessing. We get to represent the Lord God Almighty! We get to share the greatest blessing that exists in the universe with our hurting world.

Pastor’s Challenge:

  1. Tap into God’s heart for the world this week.

  2. Create a top 10 list of people who need Christ and begin to pray for them.

  3. Don’t underestimate the power of your financial giving to take the gospel across Alaska and the world.
