OVERFLOW
Overflowing Sacrifice

2 Samuel 24:18-25; 1 Chronicles 21; Mark 12:41-44
A king and a widow.
What could they possibly have in common? And what could they ever teach us about experiencing the overflow of God?*

1.Sacrificing

King David: Sacrificing pride by confession.

Widow: Sacrificing pride through presence.

2.Sacrificing

King David: Sacrificing the privilege of position.

Widow: Sacrificing the privilege of excuses.

My challenge to everyone in HNW during Overflow is to seek the Lord in prayer and to act in obedience.

3.To Build a Sacrificial

Therefore, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, offer yourselves as living sacrifices—this is your spiritual act of worship. —Romans 12:1

Abraham the patriarch—obeying the Lord.
David the King—obeying the Lord.
An unnamed impoverished widow—obeying the Lord.

The more I obey, the more I trust the Lord.
The more I obey, the more I am able to love others.
The more I obey, the more I am willing to take a risk for Jesus.

I would say that the sacrificial life is the only life worth living.
