Sermon Title & Text: “Don’t Lose Heart” Ephesians 3:1-13
NetWorth! (Book of Ephesians) The difference between all the assets minus all the liabilities is a person’s new worth. All they own - all they are = net worth. What is the net worth of your soul? Paul explains to Ephesian Christians living in an idolatrous, money driven culture that their soul has immeasurable worth. The understanding of the worth of your soul impacts every single day of your life.
- Manifold Wisdom. In Eph 3:1-13 Paul is focusing on his personal calling and impact on the church. How does your life impact Christ’s church locally (home church) and universally (global church community)?
- Mystery:
a. Purpose: Given to Me for You (church) [v.2]
b. Revealed to Paul [vv. 3-4]
c. What is a mystery? [vv. 5-6] - Grace:
a. Gift of God’s Grace [vv.7-8a]
b. Grace to the Least of All [v.8a]
c. The purpose of God’s Grace [v8b-9] - Manifold Wisdom of God:
a. The church is a display of God’s pattern of Wisdom [v.10]
b. The church makes God’s Wisdom known to all [v.10]
c. Do Not Lose Heart [v.13] - Paul’s point was that what challenged them was actually a sign of their worth (signigicance). As you reflect on today’s message, how do your challenges show the value of your life?
- Prayer: Lord, reveal to me, the value of my life, so that my life can make an impact. Not all of my decisions have been good ones, but I ask that you create in me a pattern of wisdom. I pray that Your wisdom now be what I am known for, by my children, my family, my co-workers, etc…
Notes:
Lord, we pray these notes and this message are a source of strength, guidance, and spiritual deepening for us all. Amen.
