Series: What In The World Is Going On?

The sons of Issachar, were men who understood the times… —1 Chronicles 12:32

His mercy is from age to age to those who fear him. —Luke 1:50 (NAB)

Before the mountains were born, you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting (from age to age) you are God. —Psalm 90:2

I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters… —Romans 11:25 (NET)

Are we in the end times?

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. —Matthew 24:3-8 (NKJV)

Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. —Luke 21:10-11 (NKJV)

…and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows —Matthew 24:3-8 (NKJV)

This

the end. It’s
of the end.

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. —Matthew 24:9-11 (NKJV)

What takes place near the end times?

And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. —Matthew 24:12-14 (NKJV)

In The End, there will be:

Today’s Focus: A Great Drifting:

So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it. —Hebrews 2:1 (NLT)

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. —2 Timothy 3:1-5 (KJV)
Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first… —2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 (NKJV)

Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first… —2 Thessalonians 2:3 (NKJV)

Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold… —Matthew 24:12 (NIV)

How do you not drift away in times like this?

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. —Hebrews 10:25 (NLT)

How should we live in these times?

1)

for His return.

Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near. —Luke 21:28 (NKJV)

2)

for Him daily.

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ… —Titus 2:11-13 (NKJV)

3)

your light shine.

Always being prepared to make a defense (give an answer) to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect. —1 Peter 3:15 (ESV)

“Live as though Christ died yesterday, rose from the grave today, and is coming back tomorrow.” —Theodore Epp
