Title: Offense & Murmuring
Series: Necessary Sins

If someone does something to you that offends you, do you have the right to hold that against them, cut them off, murmur and complain about them? God directs us in this very “unnessesary sin!”

Foundational Scriptures…

Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me. I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer. —Psalm 66:16-19 (NIV)

If I regard iniquity (sin) in my heart, the Lord will ot hear… —Psalm 66:18 (KJV)

…Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me… —Psalm 19:12-13 (NKJV)

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. —Psalm 139:23-24 (NLT)

These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren. —Proverbs 6:16-19 (NKJV)

Do not murmur… as some of them did - and were destroyed by the destroyer. Now these things happened to them as an example and warning [to us]; they were written for our instruction, to admonish and equip us…—1 Corinthians 10:10-11 (Amplified)
