The Upside-Down Kingdom
- The kingdom of God is full of reversals—He lifts the humble, scatters the proud, and fills the hungry.
- Mary’s song, the Magnificat, declares what God is doing: turning the world upside down.
1) God Scatters the Proud (v. 51)
“He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.”
- Pride isn’t just arrogance—it’s the posture of resisting God.
- Biblical Example: The Tower of Babel (Genesis 11)—self-reliance leads to scattering.
