Using Your Daily Armor

Ephesians 6:10-18

The Battle Is On 04 | Debbye Turner Bell | leadership development coordinator | first aired on 08.09.20

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—” —Ephesians 6:10-18 (NKJV)

There is a war going on in the spirit realm, whether you know it or not. The enemy is waging a battle for your soul, mind, heart, family, peace, faith and more.

The battle is real and the stakes are high!

We must learn to live by the Spirit, and fight in the Spirit.

You have armor and weapons available for you to be protected from the enemy and to defeat the enemy.

Two truths:

You will have to fight
You have protection while you are in the fight

Our spiritual armor includes: truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, the Word of God, and prayer.

I. Faith: The enemy

your faith to keep you out of the .

Faith is what allows us to go into battle (it quenches the fiery darts of the enemy)

Faith is a decision not a feeling

Faith comes from the Word of God (Romans 10:17)

The enemy attacks your faith to keep you out of the fight

Agreeing in faith with others surrounds us with protection

II. Truth: Truth

us to be able to

“Girding our loins” with truth, frees us to be able to fight.

The lies of the enemy bind us up.

The enemy with use “facts” to keep us from acting on The Truth. (John 8:32)

Know the truth about your identity and authority in Jesus.

III. Righteousness—being in

relationship with God—protects our

When we allow the enemy to compromise our character, our heart becomes exposed.

IV. Peace: If the enemy can

our peace, we lose our

Peace anchors us by giving us solid footing

If the enemy can shake our peace, we lose our stability. We waver.

VI. Word of God: God’s Word both

and for us

The Sword of the Word is the only defensive and offense weapon the in armor of God.

The Word of God is powerful. It sets the captive free, heals the sick, accomplishes the will of God and gives us light and guidance.

VII. Prayer is a mighty

VIII. Armor is only effective if you use it! We must

the armor of God.

Call to action:

  1. Daily cloth yourself in truth, righteousness, peace, faith and salvation. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you walk in this armor everyday

  2. Determine that you will fight the battle where it is … in the Spirit. Refuse to allow the enemy to lure you into fights with people. Fight “principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

  3. Get angry at the enemy and take the authority that you have in the name of Jesus.

  4. Having done all, STAND.
