Words – They have the power to
“And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison.” —James 3:6-8
Words – They have the power to
“Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” —Eph. 4:29
“Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.” —James 4:17
Actions – Work towards turning away from
“Do not repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate when people say unkind things about you. Instead pay them back with a blessing. That is what God wants you to do, and he will bless you for it.” —1 Peter 3:9
Actions – Work towards doing
“Turn from evil and do good.
Seek peace and pursue it.” —Psalm 34:14 (NIV)

The
“The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right;
