Why should I be generous?

1 .

is Generous

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. —James 1:5

He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, —Titus 3:5-6

For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, —Romans 10:12

2 . Generosity is a

Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. —Matthew 5:42

Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need. —Ephesians 4:28

Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. —1 Timothy 6:18

3 . God

the Generous

9 Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; 10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. —Proverbs 3:9-10

How can I be generous?

1 . Cultivate

11 for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. —Philippians 4:11-12

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. —1 Timothy 6:6-8

21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. —Matthew 6:21

2 . Become

44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. —Acts 2:44-45

3 . Act in

8 Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up, 9 “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” —John 6:8-9

42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. 43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.” —Mark 12:42-44
