1 As for you, Titus, promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching. —Titus 2:1

We must believe what is right then do what is right. Knowing right theology doesn’t matter if our lives don’t reflect it.

19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 TEACH THESE NEW DISCIPLES TO OBEY ALL THE COMMANDS I HAVE GIVEN YOU. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. —Matthew 28:19-20

1. What to teach older

2 Teach the older men to exercise self-control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely. They must have sound faith and be filled with love and patience. —Titus 2:2

a. Self-control

b. Worthy of respect

c. Wisdom

d. Sound faith

e. Filled with love

f. Patience

2. What to teach older

3 Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers. Instead, they should teach others what is good. 4 These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children. —Titus 1:3-4

a. Older women are not to be slanderers

29 Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. —Ephesians 4:29

b. Older women are not heavy drinkers

There must be a connection between the doctrine we profess and the conduct we display. Both must glorify and exalt God.

c. Older women are to train younger women how to love their husbands and children

8 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! 9 For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true. 10 Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. 11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. 12 It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. 13 But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them, 14 for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, “Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” —Ephesians 5:8-14
