22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, PATIENCE, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! —Galatians 5:22-23

Weariness never makes any of us sin; weariness, and other pressures like it, only bring our sin to the surface.

If love has to do with our attitude, and joy has to do with our emotions, and peace has to do with our mind, then patience has to do with our reactions.

4 “Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “MY TIME HAS NOT YET COME.” —John 2:4

6 Jesus said to them, “MY TIME HAS NOT YET COME… —John 7:6

30 So they were seeking to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him, because HIS HOUR HAD NOT YET COME. —John 7:30

20 These words he spoke in the treasury, as he taught in the temple; but no one arrested him, because HIS HOUR HAD NOT YET COME. —John 8:20

1 Before the Passover celebration, JESUS KNEW THAT HIS HOUR HAD COME to leave this world and return to his Father. He had loved his disciples during his ministry on earth, and now he loved them to the very end. —John 13:1

1 After saying all these things, Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, THE HOUR HAS COME. Glorify your Son so he can give glory back to you. —John 17:1

28 Jesus knew that his mission was now finished, and to fulfill Scripture he said, “I am thirsty.” 29 A jar of sour wine was sitting there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put it on a hyssop branch, and held it up to his lips. 30 When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “IT IS FINISHED!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. —John 19:28-30

3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. —Romans 5:3-5

Ephesians 4:1-2, 1 Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. 2 Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. —Ephesians 4:1-2

4 LOVE IS PATIENT and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and ENDURES THROUGH EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE. —1 Corinthians 13:4-7

5 In the same way, you who are younger must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, dress yourselves in humility as you relate to one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” —1 Peter 5:5

7 Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. 8 You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near. —James 5:7-8

I’m too happy in God to be undone by interruption or inconvenience.

1 Now I want you to know, dear brothers and sisters, what God in his kindness has done through the churches in Macedonia. 2 They are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity. —2 Corinthians 8:1-2

9 The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. —2 Peter 3:9
