BIG PICTURE: The season of advent links the past present and future. It reminds us that no matter what life’s circumstances we are experiencing, there is hope because God is with us.

TEXTS: Isaiah 9:6; Luke 1:26-38; Romans 8:24-25

KEY VERSE: Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23

ENTERING ADVENT

“Advent” means

or arrival.

Advent is a season of digging deep into the

of what it means that God sent His
Son.

FOCUS ON HOPE

A different definition:

expectation.

Hope

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
- Hebrews 11:1

Hope

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.- Hebrews 6:19

Hope

For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. – Romans 8:24-25

NEXT STEPS: Take some time this week to reflect on the hope that we have in Jesus.
