The Peace Of Christmas

Text: Micah 5:1-5

Micah 5:1-5
1 Now gather yourself in troops, O daughter of troops; He has laid siege against us; They will strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek.
2 “But you, Bethlehem, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.” (This verse is a prophesy that the Messiah will be born in Jerusalem.)
3 Therefore He shall give them up, Until the time that she who is in labor has given birth; Then the remnant of His brethren Shall return to the children of Israel.
4 And He shall stand and feed His flock In the strength of the Lord, In the majesty of the name of the Lord His God; And they shall abide, For now He shall be great To the ends of the earth;
5 And this One shall be peace.

Here’s the good news; you don’t have to wait until Jesus returns to experience peace in your life, because you can have—Peace through Forgiveness.

What type of peace does Jesus bring?

of sins!

Without that forgiveness you and I cannot experience true peace.

1.) First, The Peace Christ Gives Is

Circumstances. (Romans 8:1; 8:28, 28-29)

The point is that there can be peace even in the worst of circumstances, because peace isn’t determined by outside forces unless we allow it to be.

Peace is the result of

living in my heart and in your heart.
• Peace is the assurance that I am safe in His hands, no matter what may be going on around me.
• Peace is trust in the midst of strife and turmoil.

2.) Secondly, The Peace Christ Gives Is

Understanding. (Philippians 4:7; Ephesians 3:20; Isaiah 26:3; Romans 5:1; John 14:27)

• How can a Christian lose their job and not worry?
• How can a believer look cancer in the face and not flinch?
• How can a Christian keep going after the loss of a loved one, or a child, or some other tragedy?
• How can a believer give his life up as a martyr for Christ instead of denying Christ?

It’s because of the peace Jesus gives when you

your faith in Him.

3.) Lastly, The Peace Christ Gives Is

Available.

Before Jesus left His disciples He promised after He was gone the Holy Spirit would come and be with them, comforting, teaching, and encouraging them.

In Acts 2, we read the Holy Spirit did come.
Now His comforting, teaching, and encouraging is available to all who believe in Jesus.
For the believer there is never a moment in which we are

from Christ‘s peace.
There is never a second when we need to worry, or need to be afraid.
The peace that comes from Christ is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Bottom Line:
Because of

, there is peace.
