Title: “Navigating Generational Patterns”
Series: Take Back Your Family

I set the people according to their families, with their swords, their spears, and their bows. And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, “Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.” —Nehemiah 4:13-14 (NKJV)

Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah. And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, as his father Manasseh had done. —2 Kings 21:19-20 (NKJV)

He (Hezekiah)did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight, just as his ancestor David had done. —2 Kings 18:3 (NLT)

Reflection Question:

Can you identify patterns of generational sin in your family?

Our fathers sinned and are no more, but we bear their iniquities. —Lamentations 5:7 (NKJV)

You can generational sin or it even stronger?

And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.” —Exodus 34:6-7 (NKJV)

Ungodly and generational can have a
on your family.

For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting[b] the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. —Exodus 20:5-6 (NKJV)

Godly and generational can have a
on your family.

Two Things To Break Generational Sin:

1) . (formally declare one’s abandonment of something.)

Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. —Proverbs 28:13 (NIV)

2) . (formally declare one’s authority over something.)

What Do You Announce?
How Do You Announce?

The

of God and the of Jesus.

The accuser of our brethren (Satan), who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony—Revelation 12:10-11 (NKJV)

Prayer of Renouncing & Announcing

Thank you, God, that generational curses are broken over my family, and I am renouncing and confessing them as sin. I announce Jesus is my authority and my mercy seat and that His blood cancels and breaks generationa patterns, sins, and curses. I believe, by the blood of Jesus, that the generational curse from the law is cancelled and broken off my family now, in Jesus’ name. Thank you, God, that the Word of God is greater than the words and actions of the past and the blood of Jesus. Thank you, God, that the Word of God is greater than the words and actions of the past and the blood of Jesus is a barrier and that ungodly patterns, sins, and curses cannot pass beyond the blood. Today, I take back my family and I announce the Word of God is my defense and I plead the blood of Jesus over my family! Amen.

Closing Challenge: What patterns and sins do you need to renounce and announce for Jesus?
