My Identity: In Christ
I Peter 2:9-10
Until you discover your true identity in Christ, you will not be eligible or desire to truly serve the Lord.
Identity is the key to Christianity.
YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHO YOU ARE! YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHO’S YOU ARE!
Abram – Exalted Father
Abraham – Father of Nations
Only the one who created you and put breath in your lungs has the authority to identify you.
John 1:12 - But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,
In Christ, you will forever be identified as a child of God.
The only pronoun that truly identifies believers is:
“HIS”.
What is the result of my identity?
Revelation 22:14
Those who have the right to the tree of life in eternity are “Blessed”.
Because I am HIS, I am blessed.
This world tries to mold you into an image that they believe fits you and your personality.
The world wants you to molded into their image of you, but God created you IN HIS IMAGE.
“When God gives an idea, it is called inspiration
When Satan gives you an idea its called temptation
Step 1 – Stop repeating what you have been told about who you are and trust what God says about you.

In Christ, I am completely accepted

Eph 1:4 - Because He chose you before everything
Titus 3:7 - Because Jesus made me acceptable (Eternal Heirs)
In Christ, you are completely accepted because you were chosen before the foundation of the world to become an heir to God’s Kingdom which is eternal life in Heaven with Jesus.
In Christ, I am extremely valuable
Holy and belonging (set apart and extreme value - special)
What makes something valuable?
Who owns it
Who signed it
Who owns you?
Are you marked as His?
In Christ, I am completely accepted and extremely valuable and He paid that high price
In Christ, I am eternally loved
Hebrews 2:11 – Jesus and the ones He makes holy have the same father.
Jeremiah 31:3 – I have loved you with an everlasting love, with unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.
Two Characteristics of God’s Love
It is unconditional
It is unending
In Christ, I am completely accepted, extremely valuable, and eternally loved because His love never fails.
In Christ, I am completely forgiven
Psalm 103:12-14 teaches that God forgives: As far as the east is from the west
Romans 8:1 teaches that (in Christ) there is NOW no condemnation
We are Totally Forgiven
WHY: Isaiah 43:25 - It is in His nature to forgive
HOW: Ephesians 1:7 - Jesus Paid for my sins – this is where we see that we are accepted, loved and forgiven
In Christ, I am completely accepted, extremely valuable, eternally loved and completely forgiven because God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son!
In Christ, I am fully capable
Priests (Every Member is a Minister)
Representative of Man to God
Represents God to Man
Acts 26:18 – “to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.”
I AM FULLY CAPABLE! Now believe it!
SCRIPTURE
II Corinthians 3:5-6
5 Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God,
6 who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
If you do not feel capable, it is because you are listening to the voices around you instead of the Words of God.
Philippians 4:13 – I can do ALL things through Him who gives me strength.
In Christ, in all circumstances and no matter your situation, God has got you!
In Christ, I am completely accepted, extremely valuable, eternally loved, completely forgiven, and fully capable because “The Bible Tells Me So”
Stop listening to EVERYONE and start affirming the things that God says about you in scripture
Tell the Lord that you want to know your real identity.
Let God’s Word remind you of who and WHO’s you really are.
God created you to be more than a conqueror.
Romans 8:37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.
In Christ, you are completely accepted, extremely valuable, eternally loved, completely forgiven, and fully capable to live for Him because you belong to Jesus!
YOU MUST KNOW YOUR IDENTITY!
You are who God says you are!
You are completely accepted, extremely valuable, eternally loved, completely forgiven, and fully capable to live for Him and bring others to know Him.
