The purpose of this series is to share truth about relationships. Exploring the uniqueness and the commonality of relationships.  Such knowledge brings comfort if you are hurting, convinces you that all things are possible and challenges you to make course corrections. This truth must be the legacy that you pass to your children and their
children.

I. The writer of Genesis makes it clear that in all of creation, there is something

about humanity.

Genesis 1:1-4 NKJV
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth wasv without form, and void; and darkness (or chaos) was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light” (order); and there was light (order). 4 And God saw the light (order), that it was good; and God divided the light (order) from the darkness (chaos).

Genesis 1:26-28; 31 NKJV
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God
blessed them and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

A. We are all bearers of the image.

Every single human being bears the image of God. People have limitless worth in God’s eyes.

1. God gave me His

to bear.
2. God gave me a - male or female.
3. God gave us .
4. God gave us a .
5. God gave us the ability to bring into chaos.

B. We are more than different.

Ephesians 2:14-18 MSG
The Messiah has made things up between us so that we’re now together on this, both non-Jewish outsiders and Jewish insiders. He tore down the wall we used to keep each other at a distance. He repealed the law code that had become so clogged with fine print and footnotes that it hindered more than it helped. Then He started over. Instead of continuing with two groups of people separated by centuries of animosity and suspicion, He created a new kind of human being, a fresh start for everybody. Christ brought us together through His death on the Cross. The Cross got us to embrace, and that was the end of the hostility. Christ came and preached peace to you outsiders and peace to us insiders. He tre

THE PURPOSE OF THE CHURCH IS TO SEE HUMANITY, TOUCH HUMANITY AND BRING GOD’S WHOLENESS TO HUMANITY—RECONNECTING THEM TO EACH OTHER AND OUR FATHER GOD.

to the Creator.

II. The purpose of this teaching is to share

about relationships, particularly our intimate relationships.

Genesis 2:15-17 NKJV
15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Genesis 3:1-14; 20-23 NKJV
Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;  3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said,
‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’” 4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.  5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.  7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. 8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” 10 So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.” 11 And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?” 12 Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” 13 And the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” 20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. 21 Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them. 22 Then the LORD God said “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— 23 therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken.

Genesis 2:18-25 NKJV18
And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”  19 Out of
the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature that was its name.  20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. 21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.  22 Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. 23 And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.” 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

The Attack: When the enemy attacked humanity, it was a well thought out plan to disconnect us from our destiny and destroy us through our relationships. He wants your “oneness”.

The Solution: Jesus came to reconnect us and give us back His abundant life.

John 10:10 NKJV
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.
