REOPENING OUR CHURCH CAMPUS
The church campus will be reopening for in-person worship beginning Sunday, October 4th. There will two worship experiences at 8:30am and 10:30am. To read an extensive plan on our reopening procedures, visit Covid-19 Update Webpage or the Cooper City Church of God app to learn about the many ways that the leadership team is committed to make sure we are in a safe, yet welcoming environment both for people AND the presence of God.

The Full Armor of God

YOU CANNOT FIGHT VICTORIOUSLY UNTIL YOU ARE FITTED WITH THE ARMOR OF GOD.

Ephesians 6:10-18 NLT
10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere

THE SHOES OR SANDALS OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE.

Ephesians 6:15 NLT
For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.

Ephesians 6:15 NLV
Wear shoes on your feet which are the Gospel of peace.

Ephesians 6:15 NRSV
As shoes for your feet put on whatever will make you ready to proclaim the gospel of peace.

We cannot reach and inspire others with the transforming power of the Gospel until we have first experienced the transforming power of the gospel in our own lives.

Romans 10:13-15 NLT
13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
14 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? 15 And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”

Acts 1:8 NKJV
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

The mandate is clear … especially when we realize that these words from Acts are the fifth time Jesus focussed on the Gospel character of the church.

“Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matt 28:19)
*“Preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15)*
“Repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in my [Jesus’] name to all the nations” (Luke 24:47)
*“As the Father has sent Me I am sending you” (John 20:21)*

No Christian is exempt from evangelism.

1 Corinthians 2:3-5 MSG
I was unsure of how to go about this, and felt totally inadequate—I was scared to death, if you want the truth of it—and so nothing I said could have impressed you or anyone else. But the Message came through anyway. God’s Spirit and God’s power did it, which made it clear that your life of faith is a response to God’s power, not to some fancy mental or emotional footwork by me or anyone else.

The message of the Gospel relies solely on the finished work of Jesus on the cross. The Holy Spirit gives us boldness to share and opens the heart of the hearer.

Ephesians 2:10 WEB
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.

We cannot help others find peace through Jesus when our own lives are in turmoil.

Peace comes from God, not from things that I cannot control.

Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

HOW DO WE PREPARE OURSELVES WITH THE GOSPEL OF PEACE?

I. BE AT PEACE WITH GOD

Romans 5:1 TLB
So now, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith in his promises, we can have real peace with him because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.

II. BE AT PEACE WITH ONE ANOTHER

Hebrews 12:14 ESV
Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.

Colossians 3:15 NKJV
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Ephesians 1:22 NET
And God put all things under Christ’s feet, and gave him to the church as head over all things.
