The baptism of Jesus saves us from our sins because it is Jesus’ declaration of
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and (all) are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,” - Romans 3:23-24
Jesus said:
“you must be born again!” - John 3:3
And…
”Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” - John 3:5
“Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. “ - Romans 6:3-4

“Baptism, ….. now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.” - 1 Peter 3:21-22
