Prayer Is Our Priority

See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands. —Isaiah 49:16 (NLT)

Prayer is our priority – The work of the church is first and foremost prayer, by which all other work is led, empowered, and supported.

Being with God precedes doing for God.

God is waiting:

• to talk with you

My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming.” —Psalm 27:8 (NLT)

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. —Hebrews 4:16 (NLT)

God speaks most often through His Word, the Bible.

God is waiting:

• to talk with you
• to lead you

Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. —Psalm 5:3 (NLT)

God is waiting:

• to talk with you
• to lead you
• to empower and support you

“…apart from me you can do nothing.” —John 15:5b (NIV)

I love the LORD because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath…and so, I walk in the Lord’s presence as I live here on earth —Psalm 116:1-2, 9 (NLT)
