John’s Message Was Simple: “Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand.”
“Advent” means “
The Color Blue represents the sky becasue the angel said: “He will come in the same way you saw Him leave” - Acts 1:11
John proclaimed: “The Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world” - John 1:29
“He must increase but I must decrease.” - John 3:29
Isaiah prophesied about Him:
Isaiah 40:1-5
“‘Comfort, comfort my people,’ says your God. ‘Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and cry to her that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.’ A voice cries: ‘In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain. And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.’”

Side Note: Followers of Jesus, before they were called “Christians,” were called “
POINT: We are called to “prepare the way” for people to become disciples of Jesus by baptizing them and teaching them (Matthew 28:19-20)….just like John!
Q: Do the people around you experience the comfort of Jesus through you?
Do you live in such a way that demonstrates…testifies…that YOU are preparing for the coming of Jesus?
POINT: We are right with God….we have access….a way to God by
“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do” - Luke 23:34
