September 27, 2020

QUICK REVIEW
Sunday’s message, It’s Never Easy, from James 1 was about the power and purpose of trials and testing in terms of our growth and development as Christ-followers. For the Small Group discussion, we’re going to look at and learn from a similar text with a similar message.

Read James 5:7-11

MY STORY
-Do you or do you not have a “green thumb?” What have you had success in growing?

-What trial or test in your life produced the greatest growth in your faith?

DIGGING DEEPER
Reread James 5:9 and look for the command in this verse.
-Why are we more prone to groan when we are facing trials and tests?

-What are real actions you can take to combat the temptation to grumble while you live in the trial and patiently wait for fruit to be produced in your life?

Reread James 5:11 and reflect on the Old Testament character, Job.
Read Job 1:20-22 and focus on Job’s response to his trials.
-How could Job respond in praise and worship given the circumstances he was facing?
