1 John 4:16-19
1) GOD IS LOVE AND HIS LOVE IS FOR TODAY
16God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. 1 John 4:16-17
• Activity: Go find one Bible verse about God’s love.
• Challenge:
(1) Share your verse with someone.
(2) Write down your verse somewhere you will see it daily.
(3) Take a picture and share it on social media and tag Lighthouse in it.
2) ALL FEAR MUST PASS THROUGH THE LENS OF GOD’S LOVE
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 1 John 4:18
• Activity: Stack your fears up against the work of the cross.
• Challenge: Respond to fear this week with a reminder of God’s love and faithfulness.
3) TIMING IS EVERYTHING WITH GOD’S LOVE
We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19
