Crossroads North Kokomo Demo

The birth of the Messiah was the most important and significant event in history!

Matthew 1:22 — All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet

Prophets — God’s messengers selected to share details about what God was going to do
• They were forth tellers, not fore tellers
• Prophet — “bubble up”, “utter”

He is !

Who?
• One would go before him — Isaiah 40:3-5
• Descendant of Abraham — Genesis 12:3
• From the “tribe” of Judah — Genesis 49:10
• One of Jesse’s sons — Isaiah 11:10
• In the “line” of King David — II Samuel 7:12,13

Genesis 12:3 — “All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”

Where?
• Born in Bethlehem — Micah 5:2
• Spent time in Egypt — Hosea 11:1
• Caused crying in Judea — Jeremiah 31:!5

Micah 5:2 — But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel, whose origins are in the distant past, will come from you on my behalf.

How?
• Born to a Virgin — Isaiah 7:14

Isaiah 7:14 — All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).
