For the Knowledge of His Will

July 30, 2023

Jesus taught that the “ASK” content of prayer is to be
focused on both our

and needs.

Ask #1:

“Lord, I ask for

, but mostly that Your be done.”

Ask #2:

“Lord, I ask that You fill me with the

of Your will.”

Asking for more knowledge of His will is asking to live a life that is

to God.

Asking for more knowledge of His will means you want to:
o Bear more fruit
o Increase in knowledge
o Be strengthened

PAUSE: TEN MINUTES WITH GOD

MONDAY | Spiritual Wisdom
PASSAGE: Colossians 1:9-11
PAUSE: We all need wisdom, but only Christians can possess spiritual wisdom. In the age of Google and relativism, we can find answers to almost any question or difficulty. But knowing the Lord’s will and following it requires spiritual wisdom. Take a moment today to ask for spiritual wisdom this week.
PRAYER: Father, forgive me for trying to use worldly wisdom to solve the difficulties that come my way. Help me to know Your will and to follow it.

TUESDAY | Spiritual Maturity
PASSAGE: Colossians 1:28-29
PAUSE: Paul challenged the early church to pursue spiritual maturity. As Christians, this pursuit seems almost impossible but through prayer all things are possible. Highlight the strength and energy that comes from above and take a moment to pray for the power you need to mature spiritually.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, may I be faithful to tell others, especially my family, and my friends about You, I ask for Your strength and energy to do this.

WEDNESDAY | Spiritual Growth
PASSAGE: Colossians 2:6-7
PAUSE: Paul reminded the Colossians that they were to walk by faith. Spiritual growth and development are dependent upon being rooted and grounded in Christ. Every time we pray to God, we exercise our faith muscle. Memorize and meditate on the passage for 10 minutes, it is a life-changer.
PRAYER: Father, may my prayer life abound in thanksgiving. Today, I am thankful that I am in a relationship with Christ. Help me grow in my knowledge of Him.

THURSDAY | Look Up
PASSAGE: Colossians 3:1-2
PAUSE: This world catches our attention, but it is God who wants our affection. Prayer is the key to a healthy relationship with God. Spend a few moments looking up to God and asking Him for the knowledge and wisdom you need.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, help me to keep my eyes on You. Help me to resist the temptation to focus on the problems below, help me see You instead.

FRIDAY | Whatever You Do
PASSAGE: Colossians 3:16-17
PAUSE: Paul encouraged his disciples to remain in the Word, to worship with other Christians, and to be thankful. Ask the Lord to glorify Him in whatever you say and do. End the week, where we started praying for spiritual wisdom.
PRAYER: Father, thank you for this series. Change me from the inside out, may I live for You and Your glory. Grant me knowledge into Your will for my life.
