The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains,
The world, and those who dwell in it. —Psalm 24:1
Since it’s all God’s we may
Don’t become more enthralled with the
“Tithing is a debt I owe, and giving is a seed I sow.”
5 C’s about the tithe:
1. Abraham
And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; now he was a priest of God Most High. 19 He blessed him and said,
“Blessed be Abram of God Most High,
Possessor of heaven and earth;
20 And blessed be God Most High,
Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.”He gave him a tenth of all. —Genesis 14:18

‘Thus all the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s; it is holy to the Lord. —Leviticus 27:30
“You shall certainly tithe all the produce from [a]what you sow, which comes from the field every year. 23 You shall eat in the presence of the Lord your God, at the place where He chooses to establish His name, the tithe of your grain, your new wine, your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and your flock, so that you may learn to fear the Lord your God always. —Deuteronomy 14:22-23
4. Malachi
“Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, ‘How have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, the whole nation of you! 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows. 11 Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of the ground; nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes,” says the Lord of hosts. —Malachi 3:8-11

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the Law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others. —Matthew 23:23
It is an insult to God to apply the term
GRACE doesn’t lower our
Do we really want to reduce our stewardship to the idea of “what is the least amount I can get away with giving back to God, and not be in the wrong?”
If your hands are closed tight on God’s resources so that he can’t take any out, realize that He also can’t put any in.
Generosity begets
Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.” —Luke 6:38
