Psalms 43:1-44:26

43:5 | Worship blesses God. It is also one of the healthiest things people can do when they are sad, fearful, or distraught (3:4; 42:5,11).

44:3 | The Israelites’ salvation during the Exodus – like salvation today – was only by God’s gracious acts on their behalf. His right hand is the symbol of His power and authority (17:7; 118:16; Ex. 15:6).

44:17 | Remembering God and keeping the covenant are closely related; those who think of God’s deeds want to obey Him (2 Pet. 1:4; 1 John 3:6).

44:23 | Not a literal effort to awaken God, this plea instead emphasizes the Israelites’ need for His immediate attention to their plight (121:3-4; Isa. 40:28).
