TALK IT OVER
INTRODUCTION
We live in a world where so many virtues are truly lacking. Let’s allow this series to bring a fresh perspective and new ways where we can bring the important virtues of Honor, Integrity, Perseverance, and Gratitude back into our everyday lives.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1. What’s your go-to way of showing honor to someone?
2. Which part of the message was most impactful for you and why?
3. Pastor Blake talked about how respect is earned, but honor is given. How does that idea influence the way you honor others?
4. The Bible calls us to honor God, our parents, those in authority, and our pastors and spiritual leaders. Have you ever found honoring someone else difficult? How could you honor someone in spite of differences or disagreements?
5. Talk about a time when you’ve seen honor build someone up in the past. What happened?
6. What are some ways you can be more intentional about honoring God and others in your life?
MOVING FORWARD
God placed the highest price on us possible; the cost of the life of His only Son. Because he values and honors us that much, we should also Honor God and others with our lives, words, and actions. What does God want to do in and through you if you lived a life of ascribing honor and value toward God and others? And only you can answer that.
CHANGING YOUR MIND
Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor. —Romans 12:9-10 (NRSV)
