02/19/23 THE GREAT SUSASTAINER: WEEK 4
February 19, 2023

THE GREAT SUSTAINER

Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. —Psalms 55:22

5  O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.
6  The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good inheritance. —Psalms 16:5 - 6

1  O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
2  You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off.
3  You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.
4  For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.
5  You have hedged me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me.
6  Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it. —Psalms 139:1 - 6

1. He sustains us with the promise of His Spirit.

Where can I go from Your Spirit? —Psalms 139:7a

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him
must worship in spirit and truth. —John 4:24

21  Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God,
22  who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. —2 Corinthians 1:21 - 22

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? —1 Corinthians 3:16

So he answered and said to me:
“This is the word of the Lord to  Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts. —Zechariah 4:6

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. —Romans 8:11

9  But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
10  But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11  For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
12  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
—1 Corinthians 2:9 - 12

2. He sustains us with the promise of ALL of His Presence.

Or where can I flee from Your presence? —Psalms 139:7b

PRESENCE DEFINED: MIPPANEYCHA

MIPPANEYCHA:

“From thy faces”

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. —2 Corinthians 13:14

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” —Revelation 1:8

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. —Jeremiah 29:11

3. He sustains us with His presence as the Perfect Father.

8  If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. —Psalms 139:8 - 10

3  And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
4  And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” —Revelation 21:3 - 4
