Day 229 - Love and Worship

Monica Barnes

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” - Mark 12:30 NIV

Yesterday, we discussed how shouting for joy (or praise) to the Lord humbles us. When we love someone, we tend to vocalize that love. For instance, when my children play a sport, act in a musical or play, win an award, or graduate high school, I CHEER for them. My cheers show them and others how much I love them.

Jesus said we should love God before anyone or anything else. If I can shout in a crowded room for my daughters or son, why can’t I shout my love for the Lord?

Fear and pride are opposites of humility. And if I love God the way I claim to, I should have no problem vocalizing that love with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Next Steps

  • Think about it: What keeps you from expressing your love for God through worship?

  • Action Step: Let’s keep working on the previous challenges. Worship God authentically and express your love for Him.
