Turning Curses Into Blessings

God turned a year of Covid craziness into amazing blessings throughout 2020: 1) Paying off our mortgage, 2) Launching prayer movements, 3) Adding Cooper Smith to our pastoral staff, 4) Building a live streaming production center, 5) Growing our Awana, youth, and social media ministries, and 6) Blessing us with youth interns who made key contributions to our ministry! What Satan meant for evil, God turned into amazing blessings!

As Israel Struggled, David Found Hope in Five Promises:

God Is Our

“In the Lord I take refuge. How then can you say to me: ‘Flee like a bird to your mountain.’” —Psalm 11:1

After David killed Goliath when he was about 15, he served seven years in Saul’s palace, then was on the run for eight years as Saul sought to kill him. Meanwhile, Israel declined.

David found refuge in God. We can also as we turn to God in prayer. Prayer is more than a wish list as we’d all like to live a long, healthy life like Moses (Deuteronomy 34:7). Jesus said,

“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart, for I have overcome the world.” —John 16:33

We Need Not

“Look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the strings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart. When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?” —Psalm 11:2-3

Although many Bible-believing Christians in lead governmental positions will be replaced on January 20, we must not panic. Nor must we be naïve. In Free to Believe, attorney Luke Goodrich shares that the gay rights agenda is aggressively seeking to shut down opposing viewpoints. Pray for spiritual awakening.

“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done.” —Matthew 6:10

The Lord

“The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord is on his heavenly throne.” —Psalm 11:4a

“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” —Romans 12:18

A gracious, winsome attitude wins allies. Pray that legal authorities will protect those who conscientiously object to gay marriage.

Trials Test

“[God] observes the sons of men; his eyes examine them.” —Psalm 11:4b

“Help, Lord, for the godly are no more; the faithful have vanished.” —Psalm 12:1

Just as David was tested by the Lord, so will you.

God

“For the Lord is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face.” —Psalm 11:7

Our hopes and dreams for Heartland in 2021 are to create a movement of 1) Prayer; 2) Scripture; 3) Outreach; 4) Discipleship; and 5) Service. We desire to welcome people to Come, Follow, and Serve our Lord!

As Heartland moves forward, we will explore facility enhancements, developing our 15-acre property, and improving our road signage. Please join with us to reach our area for Christ!

Our Response (any commitment you make is between you and God)

Be a Lawful Giver (10%)

• “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” (Malachi 3:10).
• Because I love the Lord, and in response to His Word, for at least the next 90 days, I will give 10% of my income to the church.

Be a Liberal Giver (over 10%)

• “Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Jesus, Luke 6:38).
• Because I love the Lord, and in response to His Word, for at least the next 90 days, I will give over 10% of my income to the church.
