TENTMAKER: CAMPING OUT IN ROMANS 8
The second half of Romans 8 shows us what it means to see the work of God in the midst of our suffering and pain.
ROMANS 8:18-28
So often we think that “God working all things together for the good of those who love him” doesn’t mean that our life is going to be perfect and that everything will go our way.
In fact, there are a few things that we have to recognize about suffering.
Suffering doesn’t mean God doesn’t care
God’s Sufficient grace=God’s sufficient peace
We have to recognize our hardships
ROMANS 8:31-39
We find freedom in the arms of the father, even in our darkest days.
Where we find this freedom:
It’s okay to have doubt and even anger at God even when we are hurting.
- Suffering causes us to forget what we need the most sometimes
We don’t have a guarantee to have a perfect life-take heart John 15
We have an invitation for hope
What is your hope?
The Holy Spirit is at work more than we can imagine in our suffering Romans 8:26-27
- The Spirit knows what you need most, we have to live in the Spirit, which is what Romans 8 is all about
When we suffer we can either walk with God or walk away from God, what is your choice?
