Jesus Is The Way

How would you describe where you are in your relationship with Jesus?

C.S. Lewis famously said in Mere Christianity, “A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic … [or] the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse”

In Matthew 16:13, Jesus asks his disciples who other people say the Son of Man is. Today who do people say the Son of Man is?

Answer this question, “Who is Jesus?”

What is the difference between “knowing about Jesus” and “knowing Jesus.” How can recognizing this difference shed new light on someone’s understanding of Christianity? How can it help guide you in the process of growing in a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ?

Chad mentioned this quote, “All other religious beliefs are spelled ‘D-O.’ They are focused on people doing something to somehow earn their way to God. While Christianity is spelled ‘D-O-N-E,’ because it’s based on what Jesus Christ has done for us.” Do you feel like you need to “Do” things to earn your way to God? If so, is it difficult to change your thought process? Why or why not?

“The path to God isn’t mechanical, it is relational.” What does it mean to have a relationship with God?
