Matthew 7:1-5

Matthew 7:1, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
Matthew 5:16, In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven.
Matthew 5:20, For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Matthew 6:1, “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in Heaven.
Matthew 6:19, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
Putting This Verse In Context:
Matthew 7:1, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. 3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
• Know The
John 7:24, Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.”
John 8:15, You judge by human standards…
• Don’t Overlook The
Psalm 119:59, I have considered my ways and have turned my steps to Your statutes.
James 5:9, Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged.
• Don’t Be A
Luke 18:9, To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else…
James 2:12, Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 13 because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
• Know The Standard And Purpose Of Right
2 Timothy 3:16, All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Galatians 6:1, Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted… 4 Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else…
Final Thought:
Jesus’ command against judging is not a requirement to be blind, but an invitation to be
