A New Adventure
In Montana, we found answers to our Identity and Mission Question:
I am a son, heir to a good-hearted father. I have a shared inheritance with an impossibly generous Older Brother and King, who wants me to be in the family again. I am made to reflect my Father’s glory and be about His purposes.
All of this is true and good, necessary for the core of our hearts, but as we said before your trip, the adventure in Montana is only a moment compared with the rest of your journey. Now, you will continue down the Ancient Path to your next core heart question. We are sons who are about our Father’s mission, but what does life as a son look like? How do we live as sons? At this crossing, we come to Code.
Introduction to Walking with God
Walking with God by John Eldredge offers wisdom on, well, walking with God. The book consists of numerous personal journal entries written over a year. Breaking the writings down into four seasons, Eldredge displays a year of life with God through various intimate narratives. He describes encounters where God speaks to his heart, leads him to rest, challenges his perspective, and, most importantly, shows him how to walk as a son through the day-to-day.
One thread runs through his stories. Its theme isn’t new to you: Intimacy. Every story Eldredge highlights rings the truth of intimacy with our heavenly Dad and our deep need for his answers to our questions. They show us how to listen and follow through ever-changing seasons in life. As you read this book, focus on the thread of intimacy running through the seemly unconnected annal.
