[28] Jesus knew that his mission was now finished, and to fulfill Scripture he said, “I am thirsty.” …[30] When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave
up his spirit. —John 19:28-30 NLT

Tetelestai: (Greek) “It is finished”

1. Tetelestai Means:

is Complete

For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many. —Mark 10:45 NLT

2. Tetelestai Means:

is Perfect

[18] For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. [19] It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. [20] God chose him as your ransom long before the world began, but now in these last days he has been revealed for your sake. —1 Peter 1:18-20 NLT

3. Tetelestai Means: It’s a

For these rules are only shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ himself is that reality. —Colossians 2:17 NLT

4. Tetelestai Means:

is Paid

But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. —Hebrews 10:12 NLT

5. Tetelestai Means:

is Served

[17] When I saw him, I fell at his feet as if I were dead. But he laid his right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last. [18] I am the living one. I died, but look—I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.” —Revelation 1:17-19 NLT

Has My Life Changed?

Therefore: I Am

to God

[6] When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. [7] Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. [8] But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. [9] And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. [10] For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. [11] So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. —Romans 5:6-11 NLT

Therefore: I Don’t

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. —Romans 6:23 NLT

Therefore: I Am

[6] We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. [7] For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. —Romans 6:6-7 NLT

Therefore:

for My Life

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. —Romans 8:28 NLT

Therefore:

Now Begins

[18] Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. [19] Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. [20] Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” —Matthew 28:18-20 NLT
[34] So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. [35] Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples. —John 13:34-35 NLT
