Do you ever feel invisible? Have you been looked over for a promotion? Do things seem to be going against you? Have you been praying, but not seeing an answer? The “Picked last in gym class” type of feeling can cause you to doubt your value and your worth. Do I matter? Does God see me? Does he care?
Psalm 13:1-4 (ESV)
How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Look on me and answer, Lord my God.
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,
and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,”
and my foes will rejoice when I fall.

How does Good Friday and Easter- the Cross of Christ confront our sense of value? What does the cross say about how God sees us?

John 5:2-9 (ESV)

Do you want to be

?

Have you placed your faith is in how the world sees you or how successful you are. Have you placed your value in how you are seen by others or how well things are going.

Our value and our worth goes far beyond what our circumstances say about us. We must look to Jesus and him alone to speak to us who we are.

Jesus

him!

When Jesus would lock eyes on someone, their lives would never be the same. How badly do we need Jesus to look at us?

The cross means Jesus sees you!

“The gospel is this: We are more

and in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more and in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope.”— Timothy Keller

Matthew 13:45 (ESV) “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Your value lies not in what goes on outside of yourself, but in who God says that you are. And he couldn’t shout, “You are important” louder than giving himself for you on the cross

Psalm 13:4-5 (ESV) But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.
