Things Mary Did That Others Sometimes Don’t -
1. She saw herself as a maidservant of God. Lk. 1:38a
The Principle of Identity:
- When I know who I am, I am not threatened by assignments that can help
fulfill my purpose. Heb. 12:10; Jas. 4:10
2. She took time to think about the events in her life. Lk. 2:19, 2:51
 What God was up to?
 What does He want me to do?
 Who was my child created to be? Eph. 2:10
 How can I help shape him towards his life’s purpose? Pr. 22:6
The Principle of Clarity:
- When I understand what God is doing, I can join Him in His work.
3. She practiced submission.
 To the angel. Lk. 1:38b
 To the government. Lk. 2:5
 To God. Lk. 2:21, 2:22
 To her husband. Mt. 2:13-14
The Principle of Security:
- When I know my worth in God’s eye, I’m not threatened by giving up some of
my rights.
4. She believed in her son. Jn. 2:1-10
The Principle of Other’s Identity:
- When I know how God made you, I can believe great things for you. Ps.
139:14
5. She was there in her son’s worst moments. Jn. 19:26-27

- In the family, we celebrate each other in good times and support each other at
all times. Gal. 6:10
