I. We Are in a
Battle
“Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle [hand to hand combat] is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:11–12)
II. Who is a Spiritual
?
“‘… I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols.’” (Revelation 2:20)
Tolerate: to allow; (Greek = “aphiemi”) when a superior gives permission to an inferior.
III. Signs of
the Spirit of Jezebel
“Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say, ‘May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them.’ Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there,” (1 Kings 19:2–3)
