Is our trust in Jesus, or in something less?

His words and actions betray a heart that trusts his efforts, not his savior.
I earned this. I go above and beyond the rules to make sure. Actions are right…trust is way off. In fact, he isn’t praying as much as he is bragging or demanding his check.
Look at the prayer of the supposed bad guy

Peter genuinely and desperately asks…Jesus we left everything to follow you…did we get it right?
Jesus answers yes, because HE gives the eternal reward that the rich man was asking about.
This isn’t hating on wealth…he’s saying money isn’t the currency of the kingdom.

Now is a moment we all ask the Spirit of God to check our motives and tactics. What are we trusting? Call on Jesus, lean our full weight on him, forget all the distractions and JUST FOLLOW HIM.
