Sermon Title & Text “Fulfilled Life” Mark 14:43-50 ESV
Message in a Sentence: A fulfilled life is a life within the purpose of God.
1. While in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus is betrayed by Judas, one of the 12. He brought with him a crowd authorized by Jewish leadership to arrest Jesus. With Jesus were the 11 remaining disciples that had vowed to never fall away.
2. Matthew, Mark and Luke make up the Syn-Optic = Same-View Gospel accounts. John is not an eyewitness but still a reliable account. Together the 4 gospels present the full account to their respective audiences, without contradiction. Jesus could have called down 12 legions of angels (Matthew). Peter cut off the high priest’s servant’s ear. According to John the servant’s name was Malchus and according to Luke, Jesus put his ear back on. This had to happen so Jesus could fulfill the cup that was His to drink [purpose]
3. Each of the 3 groups present/involved in the arrest of Jesus knew Christ from their own perspective. 3 False Motivations for Following Jesus:
a. Financial [Judas]

6. A fulfilled life knows the plan, submits to the plan, demonstrates the significance [glory] of God. The plan of the Cross for You:

Everyday Jesus: Mark 14:43-50

· Monday: Read Mark 14, Jesus could’ve escaped the whole scene in the garden and voided the outcome. Instead, Jesus fulfilled the plan of God, the will of God and therefore Glorified God. Today, ask God to help you to live a life submitted to His plan & will so that your life will glorify God.
· Tuesday: Read Mark 14:43-50, In Sunday’s message we spoke of the connection between the motivations and moral blindness displayed in the betrayal & arrest of Christ. Re-read SN3&4 and pray over those attributes at work in your life.
· Wednesday: Read Mark 14:43-50 God has a plan for your life, today pray to know God’s plan for your life.
· Thursday: Read Mark 14:43-50 God has a will for your life, today pray to live submitted to God’s will for your life.
· Friday: Read Mark 14:43-50 A fulfilled life demonstrates the significance of God. Thank God for the godly significance of your life. Continue by asking God how He can get glory out of your life.
· Saturday: Read 1 Peter 2: 21-3:22. At the end of Mark’s account, the disciples all fled. Meditate on the truth of the example of Christ and the power of the cross now available to followers of Christ.
