Colossians: Day 16
Verse 4:1

Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven.

Questions:
1. How has your work, speech, integrity, and character been recently in the workplace? (Do not forget, you are the only Jesus some people may ever see in their life.)

2. How could you better reflect God to your superiors or subordinates this week?

3. Who at your work does not know Jesus? Pray for them specifically this week.

Interpretation:
As the slave’s motivation to do good work is changed by the Gospel, so is the master’s motivation to treat his slave with dignity and respect. The slave owner must consider his behavior in light of the Master in Heaven. Justice and fairness excludes any kind of abuse or oppression. In today’s world this principle should be applied to the workplace.
